  • so what had happened was...

all right. i don't mean to retreat back to my old habits but some old habits never die...including random weekend adventures for the typical 40+ hour work filled young adult. this past weekend was in short, random.

it all started on thursday night. i drove home to see my mother and phoebedel off to go on their alaskan cruise. as much as i love the free trip and visiting the natural beauty of alaska before the oil drilling force bears to eat little eskimo children from the lack of 3-eyed fish and mutations due to spilling, contiminations, etc., i can't take another cruise mama. plus, i need to save my vacation time! for what? i don't know. phoebe n i watch grandma's boy while she finishes her packing and when they leave for the airport at 5 am, i leave for irvine as well. thus, concludes trip to LA #1. i head to my bed and sleep for 3 hours till...

that same morning, i meet karla, paul nathan and jaye and we go to universal studios! perfect day for an amusement park. i volunteer to drive since lovah and brudder have been driving all morning and on our way to our destination, we get lunch at costco and battle the 5 to the 101 traffic all the way there. after getting soaked on jurassic park, karla n i question the point of straightening our hair while the mummy actors on stilts start questionning karla's height after she asks them if they're supposed to scare her. haha. they were monets for sure...just good from afar. lol. we spend a full day at universal and even drop by the LA Store where i got my first dodger parafanelia! (partially because i couldn't find any laker stuff i liked that was cheap enough) hahah. we head back to irvine in MAJOR traffic (concluding trip to LA #2) and get to karla's birthday dinner at cheesecake by almost 10. after we're stuffed and i'm looking forward to getting to my bed and laying there until the next morning...i get a phone call from sheena's boyfriend saying that i need to come to her house. i wasn't going to call and tell them i was coming BUT they call me out and so i must make an appearance. by the time i get there, it's 12:15 and i proceed to deny all alcohol invitations since i would like to leave by 1:15. I get home and fall asleep on the floor since i'm so tired...

Saturday morning--I wake up at 5:53 am and I'm supposed to be at Rah's house by 6:00 PM. Still feeling dirty, I don't really care cuz I'm about to run a fun 5K in Historic PilipinoTown. I head to Rah's, we go get gas and head down the 5 yet again to LA. just our luck, we get stopped by a cute, but short, highway patrol officer. he proceeds to give Rah a citation for her speeding skills but it was nice to see a pretty face in the morning cuz mine was still tired. Not to mention my hair was a little big ...or just big in general. After apologizing profusely to Rah, we look for somewhere to make a U-ey and stop to say, "Wasn't that officer kinda cute?" Haha. We handle the 5K, go eat some darn good vietnamese food in my hood and go grocery shopping--ALL BY 12 NOON on a SATURDAY morning?! man. i haven't felt that productive in awhile. We head back to Irvine/Tustin (concluding trip to LA #3) and watch The Rise of Taj which was supposed to put me to sleep but instead, I watch, and pick up the British term "trouser pilot". Not the greatest movie but Semi-Pro did its job and put me to sleep after the Van Wilder sequel.

I wash my car and get ready to go to Dacs' boyfriend's party. I volunteer to be DD so I drive Rah & Darin back home when Fatty asks me to come back and drive Tin. So I do...I can take care of this 5 foot nothing snowboarding bridge builder. But I have underestimated how cross-faded this beyotch is. Within 5 minutes of the drive, this girl stops giggling and asks me to pull over. i pull over twice in Park West and she vomits in the grass. Half an hour goes by and I see John Misa come home from his Southern California tour. Then we leave and I have to re-park a block later to watch Tin Tin continue to dry-heave. An hour and a half goes by...then 2 guys without shirts go by. I'm like, wtf. Then I see a skinny girl crying walk like she's going somewhere at 3:30 AM but all she's doing in walking around...brushes by all the cars and i'm like, "please god, don't let it be a ghost and that she doesn't talk to us". She happens to be fighting with her boyfriend across the street so i hear them start to fight. Some other guy comes up to Tin Tin while I'm in my car and he asks if she's okay. He offers water so I take it for her and we start choppin it up. ...seriously? Hahaha. He provides the prelude to the couples fighting on the opposite side of the street while listening to the gagging soundtrack Tin provides for us. As much entertainment it was for the couples fighting, their issues resolve leaving me and tin alone again. I convince her to get back in the car after 2 hours from when we left the party.

We drive...not even a block...when she decides to jump out of my car on the intersection of Harvard and Michelson! She says, "Phedellee, I need to go" and opens my door, slams it shut, and crouches on a WELL LIT corner of the intersection. There is no where to park on Harvard and Michelson! So I bust 2 illegal turns and head back to park west since that's the closest place to park. I reach to turn off my car lights when I see our beloved Irvine police roll by. I start to freak out cuz I know Tin Tin can be seen so I (luckily, I put on some tennis shoes) run to her and pick her up, power walk her to my car and just tell her to vommit outside my car or in the provided plastic bags if inside. either way, i just hope she doesn't vommit cuz i washed JB and i don't want to wash him again.

I finally get home by 5:30 am. geebus. the weekend needs to end already.

i wake up, go to church and head to my lunch and movie date with my little sister. it was chill. i finally got to watch dark knight and had johnny rockets for the first time in a while. i head back to drop her off...to find out that her mom isn't even home! wtf...so we head to barnes & noble since we're waiting for her to get home. but they're watching a movie with her other daughters so they call to tell me that they'll pick her up since the movie will take awhile. i offer to drive her cuz they're watching a movie already...so i drive to frickin anaheim from tustin and drop her off. it was nice hanging out but i was getting tired a bit. i finally think i'm home free--when i get on the 5 and guess what? there's traffic. my 6th time i've been on this freeway in the past 48 hours and i was hoping God would be a little merciful and let me get home with ease. Nope...not this weekend. After enduring, 15-20 minutes of traffic, I find the patience to get home and guess what I do after that?!

Knock out to Blades of Glory and The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.

I don't think I've looked forward to the week just so that the weekend would be over already.

  • Post-Worthy

I'm not usually one to post just anything...especially a chain letter. But like i noted, it's post-worthy...

A son asked his father, 'Dad, will you take part in a marathon with me?' The father who, despite having a heart condition, says 'Yes'. They went on to complete the marathon together. Father and son went on to join other marathons, the father always saying 'Yes' to his son's request of going through the race together. One day, the son asked his father, 'Dad, let's join the Ironman together.'

To which, his father said 'Yes'

For those who don't know, Ironman is the toughest triathlon ever. The race encompasses three endurance events of a 2.4 mile (3.86 kilometer) ocean swim, followed by a 112 mile (180.2 kilometer) bike ride, and ending with a 26.2 mile (42.195 kilometer) marathon along the coast of the Big Island .

Father and son went on to complete the race together. View this:

  • It's FRIDAY!!

Working full time for the last 2 years has been so much fun! Anyone who says that undergrad life is better than life after college is doing something wrong with their lives. Seriously. Not only can you really develop your people skills, professional skills and networks but you also do not have financial burdens (if you're good about your money), but you have no school/homework, no stress (if you handle your job properly) and the advantages of finally doing what you want to do without parental consent or the consent of anyone else cuz guess what! It's your life!

Not to mention every Friday feels like it's the last day of school?!

Do you remember that feeling to look forward to sleeping in, lazy reading or watching tv, eating and watching soap operas during the day cuz I didn't have cable at home home? Yes. It's like that EVERY FRIDAY! It's a WONDERFUL feeling and I'm glad I get to re-live it each week. My weekends get pretty packed so it's funny that I have to plan for my "regular schedule" on the weekdays after my 8 or so hour workdays. It's a wonder how I am just as busy, but not as stressed, as I was in college. ...and everything is still left behind besides the good friends I've kept and re-visited. People getting engaged, married, preggos--finding new loves, losing old loves and gosh darn, living the life! No letters, no drama--just living the 20s with great expectations for future adventures. It's so exciting! :)

The only hard part about life after college is not being single but is meeting people! It's kind of hard to meet people after college unless you're on eHarmony or something. Or unless you're my best friend Jenny who meets new people/guys left and right. But my best friends and DPG are 2 of the greatest things that have happened to me in college and I will never ever let them go. Plus, we're all single so it's EVEN better! Not all of us...but I make them act like they are when they're with me...otherwise, they're staying at home. hehe.

My daily routine is check e-mail...all 6 or so accounts and then check our my quickie horoscope on yahoo when I'm done with that. Lately, I've been getting interesting horoscopes saying my past will come back to haunt me. Not exactly in that menacing way--but more on a positive note. I got that one twice in a day--one on yahoo and one in a fortune cookie at pei wei. But my horoscope today kinda got me to write this entry since I don't really write anymore.

    Quickie

The people in your social circle are looking for fun, and you can give it to them.

    Overview

Your mate is even more important than usual today -- and if you're single, that situation might not last for much longer! Your good energy is perfect for romance, so make something sweet happen.

My best friend Aileen said I'm hitting a milestone. I'm not sure what that means but I highly doubt it. She's usually right but I still have no expectations b/c when it comes to things like that cuz I've come to accept that God lets you know when it's time. So many things have changed since college...and all I can say is that I'm just looking toward the future.

By the way, only a month and a week left before I buckle down--probably less than that since I'll start digging deep into research and such soon. But for now...the people in my social circle--let's play?! BAHAHAHA...just how summer should be nucka!!

  • Happy Christmas! Maligayang Pasko! Feliz Navidad! :)

It's weird to think that about 4 years later, I'm still writing in my xanga. Of course, it's entries no one ever sees or thoughts I never think aloud (or write) but still, my xanga is still a bank for precious moments and a never fading canvas for written pictures and musical notes. For all I know, no one will read this and I catch myself talking to myself ...yet again. It's also funny to think why I began my xanga so long ago. I look back and as trivial as it was then, it's still trivial now. Then why am I writing in it you ask? ...because these feelings are just times I just never want to forget...

Whirlwind of times, feelings, changes and growth. Life does go faster when you work and since I have a good year under my belt--it has flown by quickly. There is more to experience, more money to make and more money to burn. More places to see, more people to meet and more challenges to face. As wayward as I feel, there's something leading me in one direction. I may not realize where the train is chuggin' but it's not my job to be the conductor. Fidelity. Fidelis. My roots. My name. Faith. Happiness. I'll leave it to God to show me the way and bless me with the gifts to make it happen.

As for now, I need to finish Christmas present wrapping so maybe if you're lucky, I may recap 2007. If not, oh well. Call me. I do updates in person too! :) Hope everyone enjoys the days off and the time to rest.

"Imagine there was no tomorrow. Imagine that I couldn't see your face.
There would be no limit to my sorrow. So all I can say...
I wanna tell you something, give you something -- Show you in so many ways
Cuz it would all mean nothing if I don't say something...before it all goes away.
Don't wanna wait to bring you flowers, waste another hour--
    Let alone another day.
I want to tell you something. Show you something.
Won't wait till it's too late."
-Alicia Keys, "Tell You Something (Nana's Surprise)"

A little premature but ready to welcome the new year...
    Handle it.

    Good Night.
